How to Automate without a Budget

Virtually all fleet management units recognize the benefits of automated site control and management systems - increased accountability, decreased theft/pilferage, 24-hour unattended access, convenience to drivers, improved management information, reduced environmental hazards exposure - but few have the up-front capital required to implement such systems. With per-site instrumentation at $15,000 - $20,000, supporting software from the 10's to 100's of thousands of dollars, and the trouble and expense of establishing control computer and support equipment and offices, the start-up budget is generally quite hard to obtain. Even when problems are so severe that the need is recognized and budgeted (visit our "A Most Compelling Argument " page), the implementation time from conception to start-up can be a large problem, with fuel loss costs continuing to mount up until the system is operational.

Hi-Tech Data Systems, Inc. is uniquely positioned to offer a program with all the benefits and none of the problems. We already have in place the personnel, equipment, software, and expertise to provide access card production/control, data processing, and start-up organization immediately. We work with nationally recognized equipment vendors to provide acquisition, installation, and maintenance of your automated site equipment. While we are the only vendor we know of that can offer you all of this in one package, we now come to the most attractive feature of our program.

Hi-Tech Data purchases, has installed, and initially owns your automation equipment. We provide it for your use on a "lease-purchase" sort of arrangement that is part of our Service Agreement, such that you have no capital outlay. We simply include a couple of cents per processed gallon to our processing fees for 'amortization'. This small increased cost per gallon of fuel over the life of our initial Service Agreement allows us to recover our cost, and at the end of that agreement the equipment is yours. Also included in our processing fee is our cost of our computers, software maintenance, and personnel, so you 'pay as you go' for only what you need and use, again with no initial capital, overload, or personnel requirements.

You can enjoy all the benefits of modern equipment, highly experienced operators, and 'legendary' customer support (visit our "Accolades" page), up and running within a couple of months, for only a very nominal set-up fee and a few cents per gallon over time.

But, we've saved the best part for last. YOUR FUEL SAVINGS IN DECREASED THEFT AND PILFERAGE WILL MORE THAN PAY FOR OUR ENTIRE PROGRAM. Implementation of accountability systems in fueling networks historically has shown to reduce fuel consumption by 7% - 21% (or more). Although we have no way of rating our service to you until we study your particular situation, let's assume we save you 7 cents (a conservative 7% of $1.00 per gallon) and cost you a total of 5 1/2 cents for equipment amortization and processing services. We would effectively be paying you 1 1/2 cents per gallon to allow us to provide your equipment and all of your service.
